About this experience

Experience the unique lifestyle of the Gurung community in Ghandruk, the stone village facing the spectacular Annapurna South and Machapuchare (Fishtail) mountains. You'll stay in a traditional slate-roofed stone house, wear traditional Gurung attire, eat local organic food like Dhido and local chicken curry, and enjoy local dances by the fireplace.

Day 1 - 2:00 PM

Warm Welcome & Rhododendron Tea

Arrive at our stone cottage. Maya will welcome you with handmade flower garlands and freshly brewed rhododendron tea.

Day 1 - 3:00 PM

Stone Village Exploration

Walk the stone alleyways of Ghandruk. We will visit the Gurung Museum to see historic weapons, clothes, and agricultural tools.

Day 1 - 6:30 PM

Fireplace Dinner & Traditional Dance

Enjoy a hot meal of Dhido (millet porridge), local ghee, and organic chicken. Afterward, join the local youths by the fireplace for traditional Gurung folk dances.

Day 2 - 6:00 AM

Himalayan Golden Sunrise & Tibetan Bread

Watch the sun light up Annapurna South and Machapuchare. Enjoy hot Tibetan bread, local honey, and farm-fresh eggs on the scenic deck before checking out.
